Seven Confirmed Buildings, One Planning Discipline

Every outpost in Star Trek: Outposts Unknown runs on the same confirmed layer: utilities first (power and water), production and science on top, welfare underneath, and storage stitching it together. The developer's own walkthrough describes the loop — keep production buildings supplied with "water, energy, processing capabilities, and resource inputs", keep welfare structures "well-supplied", and always make sure there is storage for new resources. The seven buildings below are the ones officially confirmed and shown across Daegus and Kourou footage.

Buildings Serve the Mission, Not the Other Way Around

The distinguishing idea versus other colony builders: every outpost exists to support research into the Tetryon Rift. Housing, mess halls and medical facilities are not win conditions — they are what keeps your officers alive and productive while the science gets done. When you plan a layout, plan it backwards from the research facility and let every other structure justify itself by what it feeds.

New to the game? The beginner guide walks the full first-outpost loop on Daegus step by step.

Sourcing Note

All seven buildings are confirmed through official store copy, the developer's Steam news posts and launch trailers as of October 2026 — no leaked or datamined content appears on this page.

Pre-Launch Numbers Policy

Numeric outputs (energy per array, storage capacity, crew per habitat) are intentionally absent pre-launch and get backfilled during launch week.
